LearnLab is a learning research facilty at the National Science Foundation's Pittsburgh Science of Learning Center (PSLC) that was designed to increase the ease and speed with which learning researchers can create rigorous, theory-based experiments. It is run jointly by Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh.

K12@USC is the Los Angeles area facilitor for LearnLab studies that involve LA area schools. K12@USC staff work with local instructors, coaches and school administrators to ensure a positive experience for the K12 participants and researchers back at LearnLab.

LearnLab is a national resource for learning research that includes:

  • Support for running in vivo learning experiments,
  • Longitudinal microgenetic data from entire courses,
  • Authoring tools for on-line courses, experiments, and integrated computational learner models,
  • Data analysis tools, including software for learning curve analysis and semi-automated coding of verbal data.
